According to cancer.org:
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers. It is about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year.
Overall, the average risk of a woman in the United States developing breast cancer sometime in her life is about 13%. This means there is a 1 in 8 chance she will develop breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women.
The American Cancer Society‘s estimates for breast cancer in the United States for 2024, over 310,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women.
SURVIVORS
According to cancer.org, at this time there are more than 4 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. This includes women still being treated and those who have completed treatment.
PREVENTION
The American Cancer Society says, “There is no sure way to prevent breast cancer. But there are things you can do that might lower your risk.” Click here to find out more.
